TEAM KAIZO - An Evolution Lab of Street Aesthetics Presented by U.S. streetwear label DPLS, GeArt Studio, and the international creative collective NOreply, TEAM KAIZO is a groundbreaking art initiative rooted in JDM car modification culture. Reimagining vehicles as mobile art carriers, the project debuts a virtual street-art-inspired racing team that challenges the boundaries between urban culture and contemporary art. This first-of-its-kind collaboration features the signature aesthetics of rising South Korean artist JAES LEE, combined with the multidisciplinary vision of a global creative team. The result is a series of immersive, machine-meets-art installations that redefine how mechanical engineering and visual storytelling coalesce.
 
Global Tour × Urban Dialogue
TEAM KAIZO will unfold as a global pop-up tour, with each stop integrating local cultural motifs and iconic architecture. By drawing from street art elements and establishing a visual dialogue with the city’s landmarks, the project creates site-specific immersive environments. The modified vehicles retain the raw energy of street racing while becoming bold statements of artistic transformation.
 
Creative Framework × Experiential Upgrade
Unlike conventional pop-up showcases, TEAM KAIZO establishes a holistic creative system. From vehicle modification and artistic production to spatial design, every step is carefully curated to ensure harmony between artistic intent and technical execution. This is more than an exhibition—it’s a forward-looking experiment in street aesthetics, cultural hybridity, and future mobility.
 
Artist Concept
JAES LEE centers his practice around a signature "2D-mechanical" aesthetic. His characters—a personified racer and his canine partner—serve as dual protagonists in a narrative world he continues to build. Using high-gloss silver and black automotive paint as a visual medium, JAES explores the tension between speed and force. His striking combination of glossy black sculptures and a modified crimson GT-R R35 creates a powerful visual impact that fuses subcultural energy with futuristic art direction, pushing the boundaries of mechanical identity and street art expression.
